Perishing of the Twain

Feelings of helplessness
Darken shadow of sickness,
Uneasy death in a solitude
Of distress

Sudden, fall jarring firmament,
Fields swollen, indifferent
Mounds envelop all, thought, bones and scourge,
Souls absent

Consummation of worms,
Weariness of revision, terms
Of life, thorns and thistles forsaken,
Affirm

Rainbow through broken dirge, despair,
Archipelago of hope, care
Flowering, kindness of strangers, grace mends where
Twain converge

                                                           The Hermitage, Joan Miro

A thatched hut buffeted by high winds--who would dare come near?
Blows of wind and shouts of moon keep away the mist and clouds.
Solemnly, I lift up my alms bowl toward the empty heavens;
My unseasoned rice and minced yellow pickle will soon be ready!

Landscape with Rabbit and Flower, Joan Miro

Understand the ordinary mind, and realize one is naturally complete,
Ask urgently who you were before your father and mother were born.
When you have seen through the method that underlies them all,
The mountain blossoms and flowing streams will rejoice with you.

                                                                    Deliverance

                    In stillness
                    Things become clear
                    I know not

                    Lord have mercy
                    Walk bold karumi
                    Love tender

                    Through unearned grace
                    All compassion
                    Seek pardon give thanks

                    Time being
                    Will to love
                    Work to praise

                    Joy secured
                    Live in peace
